Gravestone Photographs Resource: send a message to someone who requested a photo

Send a message to the person who requested a photo of the grave monument of William Adam with the following comment:

Dear Colleague, I am a researcher in the Dept of English at the University of Texas at Austin. I am trying to determine if there are pre-existing digital images of Greyfriar's, Calton and Canongate gravestones that reveal the full text of monuments dating from 1700-1800s. My project looks at how women and trades people were practicing public address in the form of memorials in this period. I realize some projects focus more on the family data than on the graphic design of the text, so I'm trying to determine if I can use existing databases or if I need to travel over there and scan the stones for full text, size/quality characteristics and position within the yard. If I do need to scan the stones, I would be looking for a public resource site to donate the images to. Thanks and best regards, Connie Steel connie.steel@mail.utexas.edu
